Unemployment
If you leave employment, you will no longer accrue pension through our pension scheme (unless your new employer also has a pension scheme with us). If there is no transfer of accrued pension entitlements, the pension you have accrued with us will remain. You will receive your pension benefits when you retire.
During the period in which you receive unemployment benefits from Employee Insurance Agency UWV, the pension scheme provides for limited death cover.
What must you do?
Nothing. Your employer will deregister you with us.
What will we do?
- We will send you a Uniform Pension Statement (Uniform Pensioenoverzicht, or UPO) every year. This statement shows you how much pension you have accrued with us and how much partner’s pension and orphan’s pension has been accrued.
- We will terminate your ANW survivor benefit shortfall insurance if you have opted for that. This insurance will expire without value.
It is not possible to continue accruing pension with us, even on a voluntary basis.
Do you have a new job?
If so, you may be able to request the transfer of accrued pension entitlements. There are two possible situations:
-
Your pension is higher than € 2 and lower than the statutory commutation limit.
Your previous pension administrator will then automatically transfer your pension to the new pension administrator. This is arranged in a heartbeat. You don’t have to do anything for this. -
Your pension is higher than the statutory commutation limit.
Do you want your accrued pension entitlements to be transferred? If so, you can submit a request for this to your new pension administrator.
In 2024, the statutory commutation limit is € 592.51 per year. The commutation limit is established annually.
