Newly employed
You are newly employed and your employer has a pension scheme with us. In that case, you will accrue pension with us, Centraal Beheer PPI. We administer the pension scheme.
What has been arranged for you?
- You are entitled to old-age pension
- In the event of disability for work, you may be entitled to the full or partial continuation of your pension or a supplement to your income.
- Your partner will be entitled to partner’s pension after you pass away.
- Your partner may also be entitled, in full or in part, to a government pension under the Surviving Dependants Act (Algemene nabestaandenwet, or ANW).
- Your children will be entitled to orphan’s pension after you pass away.
What must you do?
Nothing. As a new employee, your employer will register you with us. You pay pension contributions each month. Your employer will automatically deduct the contributions from your salary.
What will we do?
We will send you a letter following notification by your employer. This letter contains information about your pension scheme with us. From that moment on, you will be able to log in to your personal pension portal at Centraal Beheer PPI. You can do so securely with your DigiD. In the portal, you can view your personal information and changes and, for example, your pension accrual. Please note: it may take up to two months for your contributions and accrual to be processed in the portal.
What must you arrange for yourself?

Are you married or in a registered partnership?
If so, your partner will be entitled to a partner’s pension when you pass away. You don’t have to do anything for this. We receive the partner information automatically from the Personal Records Database. This takes about a week after your employer registers you with us. -
Are you cohabiting?
If so, please register your partner with us. They will be entitled to partner’s pension when you pass away. Read more about it here. -
Have you already accrued pension at another pension administrator?
You can take the accrued pension with you. In this case, you transfer the accrued pension to Centraal Beheer PPI. This is referred to as the transfer of accrued pension entitlements.
How does the transfer of accrued pension entitlements work?

Your pension is higher than € 2 and lower than the statutory commutation limit.
Your previous pension administrator will then automatically transfer your pension to the new pension administrator. This is arranged in a heartbeat. You don’t have to do anything for this. -
Your pension is higher than the statutory commutation limit.
Do you want your accrued pension entitlements to be transferred? If so, you can submit a request for this to your previous pension administrator.
In 2024, the statutory commutation limit is € 592.51 per year. The commutation limit is established annually.
What’s good to know about the transfer of accrued pension entitlements?
- The transfer of accrued pension entitlements is not mandatory.
- Transferring accrued pension entitlements might be rewarding from a financial point of view. This depends on your previous pension scheme and your new pension scheme. For that, look carefully at the terms and conditions of and the differences between the two schemes. We cannot advise you on this from Centraal Beheer PPI. Please contact your pensions adviser for advice.
- Accrued pension entitlements can only be transferred if the financial position of your previous pension administrator is good. This means that the coverage ratio is at least 100%. If it is lower, then accrued pension entitlements cannot be transferred.
How do you request the transfer of accrued pension entitlements?
- Log in to your personal pension portal.
- There, you can request the transfer of your accrued pension entitlements. To do so, click on the button “Transfer of accrued pension entitlements”. In the form, enter the name of your previous pension fund and the policy number. These details can also be found at www.mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl.
- Upon receipt of your request, we will request your pension from your previous pension administrator. We will send you a statement of that. This statement indicates how much your pension is worth and therefore how much of your accrued entitlements you can transfer. We need your agreement for the transfer.
- Please note: the transfer is allowed only if your previous pension fund’s coverage ratio is at least 100%. If it is lower, you cannot submit your request at that time. This is only possible again after their coverage ratio reaches 100% or more. You can find on this on the pension fund’s website.
- You need to carefully consider the pros and cons of transferring your pension entitlements.
- Do you really want to transfer your pension? If so, indicate your agreement in your personal pension portal.
- We will arrange the transfer of accrued pension entitlements.
