Retiring
Often, you can choose yourself when to retire. And what you will arrange for your partner.
What can you do?
When you retire, you have a number of choices to make. Such as:
-
When you retire.
For example, would you like to retire earlier or later? Or the date on which you reach the state pension age? -
Whether you want to retire part-time.
This means you will probably work less then. At the same time, you are also already receiving partial pension benefits. -
Whether you want to be paid out higher pension benefits first and lower benefits later, or the other way around.
In the first few years, your monthly pension benefits will be somewhat higher. They will be somewhat lower in the years thereafter. Or the other way around. Check the Wijzer in geldzaken website for more information. - Whether you want to exchange old-age pension for additional partner pension. Or the other way around. Your old-age pension will then be somewhat lower and your partner’s pension a little higher. Or the other way around.

What will we do?
We will notify you about six months before you retire. This notification will state, for example, the amount of pension capital you have accrued with us. You can also read more about choosing a fixed or variable pension benefit.
Want to know what your choices mean for your pension benefits?
Complete the personal pension plan or use the pension planner in your personal pension portal. This will give you an idea of the effects of your choices on the amount of your pension benefits. You can log in using your DigiD or another recognised European method of logging in.
